Manor house wedding venues are soaring in popularity and Smallfield Place seemed destined to be Behn and Michala’s wedding venue from the start. We received an enquiry from Behn early in the new year, just days after one of our Summer 2018 weddings was postponed to 2019, leaving their preferred date free.

I had the great pleasure of showing Behn and Michala around Smallfield Place, and hearing all about their plans for a small, family centred wedding day.

With Michala’s daughter as her bridesmaid, her eldest son giving her away and her younger son serving as Best Man to Behn, the wedding truly was a family affair.

Having chosen a smaller wedding venue for their big day, Behn and Michala could now spend more of their budget on the finer details of their event. Michala even followed Meghan Markle’s example and changed into a second, equally stunning, wedding dress for the evening party!

Behn and Michala chose their suppliers with great care which meant Smallfield Place was brimming with beautiful floristry, the drinks were flowing freely and the fabulous Kalm Kitchen ensured seamless service and superb food throughout the day and evening.

Every element of the day was beautifully planned and personalised, with many finishing touches that were only made possible by the exclusive use of our small wedding venue. We always love to see how our guests make our venue their own with interesting personal touches.

With 50 guests, the happy couple were able to chat with everyone on the day, so all were made to feel truly a part of this intimate wedding.

It was a pleasure to work with Behn and Michala, from their very first viewing through to the end of their wedding day, and I wish them every future happiness together.
