“We just wanted to thank you for helping us to make our wedding such a special day. We had a wonderful time and everyone loved house and gardens. It was the most perfect setting"

Intimate weddings

Often second weddings are smaller events, which is why Smallfield Place works well, as the house accommodates up to 60 guests for a civil wedding ceremony and seated reception. The option for very intimate weddings for up to 30 guests is also available.

Rethink Traditional Family Roles

One of the great things about a having a second wedding, is you’ll likely feel able to make some changes to tradition about including your family in new ways. If either or both of you have kids, a second wedding offers plenty of opportunities for them to participate in the wedding day. As flower girls, bridesmaids or young groomsmen, sharing readings during the ceremony, even walking you down the aisle—there are so many ways the two of you can include your children in a heartfelt and meaningful way.

If one of you has had a spouse pass away, there are a lot of ways to incorporate them into your second marriage—if that feels like the right thing to do. From simple words of remembrance or a blessing by a mutual close friend or family member, to including one of their favourite poems or passages in the readings or having cherished family photos on display. Don’t be afraid to include their memory.
